The Powertrain of the 2022 Mazda CX-30 is Designed for Responsiveness

All versions of the 2022 Mazda CX-30 come equipped with all-wheel drive (AWD) as standard. Its base engine is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that puts out 186 horsepower and is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Upgrading to the turbo version of the engine will get you an extra 64 horsepower for a total of 250 horsepower.  The transmission is designed to shift gears in accordance with driving conditions and the demand for power.

Fuel economy for the base 2.5-liter engine is 24 city/31 mpg highway for a combined gas mileage of 26 mpg. You won’t lose much fuel economy if you opt for the turbo engine as it gets 22 mpg city/30 mpg highway for 25 mpg combined.

The CX-30 features Mazda’s i-Activ AWD that controls all four wheels in accordance with road conditions and driver needs. The system monitors road conditions as you drive and watches for small variations in wheel speed that a driver never notices. It responds by distributing torque to the affected wheel(s) and putting the car in front or all-wheel drive mode as needed. This results in a better driving experience, even on the worst roads, and prevents tire slippage. It also improves fuel economy by putting the car in the appropriate drivetrain mode as needed.
